Norzaiton Senusi is the Chief Executive Officer of UM Specialist Centre (UMSC). She is the first lady to hold the position in UMSC, and after less than four years with UMSC, she is named as the Healthcare CEO of the Year 2024 (Malaysia) by APAC Insider. Healthcare is a new field she ventured into but within a short period of time under her wings, UMSC has been recognised internationally as the Malaysia’s Premier Quaternary Hospital and won numerous accolades including the Best Best Brand Award, Stevie Awards (Bronze), Quaternary Service Provider of The Year in Asia Pacific and many more.

UM Specialist Centre (UMSC) is a quaternary medical centre, which is also a private hospital under Universiti Malaya. It has been in existence since 1998. It was initially established as an initiative by the Universiti Malaya (UM) and the Faculty of Medicine (FOM) to halt the “brain drain” of medical experts from public sector to the private. Today, UMSC consists of over 270 experts across all specialties. Our specialists are not just specialised but most of them are super or sub-specialised.
With over 20 years of experience, she has proven her roles by holding many top leader and C-suite positions at local and multi-national organisations i.e. CFO and COO, have extensive exposure in many fields including in Strategic Management, Business Operations, Accounting and Finance, Human Resource, Procurement, Corporate Communications, Project Management, Sales & Marketing and Business Development, across various industries i.e. healthcare, services, technology, banking and construction.

Under her wings, Norzaiton carries leadership by example. She has made tremendous transformation to walk the talk and get people to deliver their best for the company as it meant to improve their personal growth. Those who are not keen for a change is what challenged her most. Nevertheless, she took small steps in improving the hospital with the belief that good governance and teamwork would work things out.

As a leader to 500 expert talents, she juggles her responsibility with good governance, healthy financial position, and best practise of talent management. She is also known for her high integrity and energetic leadership with the ability to envision and create the greatest outcome in complex and challenging situations. She collaborates effectively with business manager to resolve variances, refine forecasts and identify opportunities for continual improvement.
